AntivolChangelog

1.3.0

Added

  • Instant remote control [macOS] — Arm/disarm commands from your iPhone or Apple Watch now reach your Mac within seconds, while using far less network and battery.
  • Stronger lock screen [macOS] — After 5 wrong passcode attempts, input locks for 30 seconds, doubling with each further failure (up to 30 minutes), with a visible countdown.
  • Early warnings [macOS] — Camera access is now requested when you arm, and a clear warning appears if the camera is denied, motion detection is unavailable, or alarm sound is degraded.
  • Always ready [macOS] — Your Mac stays awake while armed, so protection never lapses to sleep.
  • Jump to alerts [iOS] — Tapping an alert notification opens the app directly on that alert.
  • Works offline [watchOS] — Commands sent while your iPhone is out of reach are delivered automatically on reconnect (stale arm/disarm toggles are safely discarded).

Changed

  • Security on by default [macOS] — Password protection is now enabled by default and covers every sensitive action: disarming, stopping the alarm, quitting, and turning protection off. Quitting during an active alarm always requires authentication.
  • Stronger passcode storage [macOS] — The unlock passcode is now protected with industry-standard hardened encryption; existing passcodes upgrade automatically.
  • No missed events [macOS] — Every trigger now produces its own alert, even while a previous alert's photo is still being captured or uploaded.
  • Reliable deletion [iOS/macOS] — Alerts deleted while offline stay deleted and are removed from iCloud once you're back online.
  • More robust sync [iOS/macOS] — Large alert histories sync reliably, and being offline is now reported as a connection issue rather than a sign-in problem.
  • Clearer timestamps — Alert times show AM/PM in 12-hour regions, and this week's alerts show the weekday.

Fixed

  • Photo download [macOS] — "Download Photo" now works, and photos that fail to load show a Retry button (on Mac and iPhone).
  • Lock screen setting [macOS] — Changing "Lock screen when arming" while armed now takes effect immediately, and arming without a passcode shows a notice.
  • Audio recovery [macOS] — A force-quit during an alarm no longer leaves your Mac stuck at full volume on the built-in speakers.
  • Watch reliability [watchOS] — Deleting an alert responds instantly, deleted alerts no longer reappear, and spurious "new alert" taps are gone.
  • Reliable notifications [iOS] — Alert notifications now arrive dependably while the app is in the background.

1.2.0

Added

  • Lock screen [macOS] — Optionally lock your screen when arming: a full-screen overlay on every display that only your unlock passcode can dismiss.

1.1.0

Added

  • Apple Watch app [watchOS] — See your alerts with photos, check device status, and arm or disarm your Macs right from your wrist.

Changed

  • Armed at a glance [macOS] — The menu bar icon changes when Antivol is armed.
  • Faster cleanup [macOS] — Delete selected alerts with a keyboard shortcut (with confirmation).
